Sheesh, it's been forever since I've updated this thing. The first semester of college turned out great. My digital work was lacking a bit, but i've been on break and able to get into it again. I guess art sometime goes in spurts.
I had to focus on my drawing, things are pretty crazy and time consuming. I'm basically an insomniac now. I broke up with my girlfriend a month and a half ago, and it still eats at me a bit...it sucks. Other than that, everythings great...Christmas went very well, hopefully it went well for everyone else.

Thanks to all as my pageviews grow by the day, and the support grows as well. I really appreciate it.
Time is going fast at dA, and I feel my art has taken yet another step forward. The quality of my work has improved immensely within the past month, and it continues to go upwards with more practice. Thanks for all the feedback and everything.

Well, it's been about a month since my last update. Where to begin? Haha, well honestly i had our local fair, i did some camp counseling, and i've been hanging with friends and my wonderful girlfriend that I am now dating. I'm not sure if I have ever been this happy, things are going well...i am completely satisfied with life at this point in time, it sometimes doesn't seem real.
On another note, college is quickly approaching. I move down to the university the 14th, it's gonna be crazy fun. It's about an hour from home, but im sure everything will work out fine and my girl is here at home too...so i'll be around.
I'm looking forward to seeing how much I will improve at design with the awesome program at Iowa State.

Recent Work

Life In General
I'm all graduated! Had my party, etc...i'm glad its over. A huge relief really. In a sense I will probably miss it, but I am very ready for college. Being from smalltown Iowa, you get sick of the smalltown attitude. Heh, but high school is finally over. I'm attending Iowa State University this fall and majoring in Graphic Design, as well as minoring in Advertising. I'm stoked! I got my classes scheduled, i have my new computer, etc...so i'm ready. I've got a handfull of friends going there as well, and some pretty cool friends i met through orientation that are attending as well!

Latest Happenings

I am finally back from Missouri, my grandfather was in the hospital. He's out now, but it was a troublesome situation...and it truely scared me. I haven't lost a grandparent in my lifetime, but i probably will within the next year, sadly. If there has been a lack of art lately, that is why.

On a happy note, i am now over 6,000 pageviews. I must say that i really appreciate all the support I have gotten from my friends, and other helpful artists. My artwork took a serious turn since I got my new computer, in a whole different direction. With experimentation came new methods that i plan to continue using. My 3d models have taken a new turn, and i'm getting to the point where I'm getting decent at postwork. I am still developing my style, i don't want to be limited in any way, shape, or form.

If there is a particular style that you think i should pursue more that you see in my recent work, please do not hesitate to let me know!

Art

I must say that my art has definitely taken a nice turn lately. With my last piece entitled "mindflex" i did a lot of experimenting that I am definitely going to continue. Thanks to all of you that are supporting. I'll have another in-depth journal coming soon.

Life

My grandpa was recently admitted into the hospital, he has pneumonia. Yesterday my mother and I drove 7 hours to Missouri to go see him in the hospital. He got out of intensive care yesterday, things seem to be getting better. Art has been put on hold for a little while while I am here in Missouri.

Well lately I've been getting back into c4d. This new computer has seriously helped in the artwork department. It takes no time at all for rendering now. It's amazing.

My artwork is still slowly turning into a new style. My latest work is almost nothing like my old.

Things are going well with my girl, school is good, etc. Snow days fucking suck when you are snowed in and very bored in your house. I mean, it's cool because I have a bit of time to do some art but it can get to be very annoying at times. >_>

Where to start?

1. Well...for one, I can hear Televisions, I can walk into a house and tell you how many are on most times. Kinda weird.
2. I always feel the need to burn on people, always...no matter how mean the comment may be. LOL not sure if thats weird but meh.
3. I like things 90 degrees+ i hate cold weather.
4. I am easily misunderstood.
5. I can make weird noises with my hands.
6. Me and some friends do a killer beavis and butthead impression.

Lately things have been hectic with school, friends, etc...tons of new shit going on, where to begin?

- Well recently i just finished a collaboration with atomicrush [link] idea came to me when viewing some of his latest work, we finished today with a piece called "idiosyncratic risk" please be sure to check it out. I was having minor submission problems because of a browser timeout so i had to resubmit it, my apologies.

Life
- I ended things with my girlfriend about a week after we got back together...some things aren't worth the trouble apparently. No worries in this categlory though as I am seriously falling for a wonderful girl i've been talking to lately...unexpected, yes...but its great and she seems like a really cool person.

New Computer Status + Specs
- Well, I am in the midst of buying a new computer within the next two weeks, I finally got the parents set on it. This will help me out for college, etc...here are some specs:

iMac 20"
2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
3GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM
500GB Hard Drive *(I've also got a 250GB external)*
ATI Radeon X1600/256MB
Apple Wireless Keyboard + Mouse
AppleCare Protection Plan

That should do it...I've also got my iBook G4 that runs like new, and an Airport Extreme Base Station that I think i'm going to buy one of those external antennas for...anyone used one?

Other
- This new computer should seriously help me with my art endeavors, its about 10 times better than the POS i'm running on right now. This will allow me to do 3D work, etc moreso than before. The computer i'm on now won't even completely render something in C4D...I'll be running Tiger and Windows on this new comp so that should take care of my rendering situation.

Happy New Years everyone!  And what an interesting year it has been.  My work has advanced so much over the past year, I thank you for the continued support and hope you keep supporting me and my endeavors.

dA:
I recently just got out of a bit of a block, with my latest new years piece.  Try to check it out if you can, its a different style.
I plan on getting more released soon, my creative wave is back for now.

Life:
Not much new, Christmas went great.  My girlfriend and I have decided to get back together, things are rolling the way I'd like right now.  We'll see what 2007 brings.

Well, i'm not sure if i mentioned this earlier...but i was accepted into Iowa State University, i'll be majoring in graphic design.

A wave of inspiration has finally hit me again, my dry spell is over. Things are rapidly changing in my life. The trip to chicago was great and now I really have a better outlook on whats been going on lately.

I need some opinions about whether or not i should keep digging at 3D/Abstract when i get a new computer this next spring. I think it would help out my composition techniques, but i'm not quite sure. I can't be sure at this point because our computer now sucks...new 20" iMac in the spring, that'll be nice.

I applied at daGroove, we'll see how that goes...and I may be helping out at the AES forum in my free time.

Other than that, make sure to check out my recent work...i'm definitely getting there.

shit week(s) - small break

Well I can't say much besides, these past couple weeks have been a bit hard on me, things went from being great with my girlfriend...to really shitty in a matter of days for no apparent reason, we broke up 2 fridays ago. It's been rather hellacious lately, school is ten times as gay as usual, my my creative drive for art has come to somewhat of a hault. A few of my latest pieces are based on what i've been going through lately.
Aside from the rant, i feel my art is getting better...at least something is going well. damn.
I have even more free time now, im not quite sure how to look at that...but expect some new art soon.

Thanksgiving I leave for the lovely city of Chicago, and I don't return until Sunday...thats definitely going to be a good time!

I'm trying out this new CSS stuff now.  We'll see how it works out, comments are welcome.

Life is good right now, my girlfriend and I are doing great, and football just ended awhile ago so I now have more free time.  It's great.

As far as my artwork is concerned, I really do believe I have taken a new step.  My style is developing (slowly, yet surely) and I have really put most of my focus into composition.  My typography has improved drastically as well.

I need some pageviews, it's been rather slow lately.

I had a great weekend...friday night we won our football game 35-6. We stomped this other team, and it feels great. Earlier during the week my girlfriend and I decided we were going to get back together, so this weekend I saw her for the first time in weeks...things are going my way.
I just released a couple pieces...including "astound" and my newly finished "alive." Be sure to check them out!

Wow, i took a look at the new dA today. It looks pretty neat, it was about time for an update...the old style was getting a bit boring.
On another note, I am collaborating with another artist, Fabf. We've been working on it for a little while, and it should probably be finished within the next week.
Things have been busy lately between football starting, hanging with my girlfriend, and hanging with friends...but expect to see work from me sometime soon.

Well, since I've been back from my trips and mini-vacations i've had time to release some new stuff. My style is coming along, and my two favorite pieces that are recent would probably be "with you" and "party". Please feel free to take a look. As for my webcam, i just put new rims on my pickup...and that's a fresh pic. I even incorporated a picture of my rims into a latest piece I made enititled "Lupa." Make sure you check it out!
I've also kinda found myself a girl now, and that helps the inspiration out a lot. We'll see how things go.

things change

Well, things have changed a lot from my last entry which was literally ages ago. My apologies, but I figured it was time for another update.

Last Sunday, I got back from a trip to Washington D.C. I had about 2 full days at home and then I was off to the Iowa State Football Camp until Friday, so things have been busy.

My design style has slowly been changing, I can't really describe it but im getting new sudden rushes of inspiration.

I just finished a piece called "rooftops" which is totally composed of a picture and some vector art inspired by a trip I took to Washington D.C.

Be sure to keep checking back, I've got some neat stuff in the works.

Well, things have changed quite a bit since my last entry. Football is now over and I now have more time for pumping out more work and working for the IFSZ.

Now down to deviantART.
I just kinda went on a rampage of releases recently, and I'm basically expecting this to go on for quite a while.
Currently I am working on a collaboration with rivulet, and another collaboration with ghost. Expect great things, as both of these artists are very skilled.
